Navigating Change with Grace and Resilience: Stoic Wisdom for the Modern Era
We have more information, more technology, and now more artificial intelligence than any generation before us. But are we becoming any wiser? Two thousand years ago, Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius confronted problems that algorithms still cannot solve: fear, uncertainty, wasted time, loss of control, and the question of how to live well. Stoicism offers no shortcut to happiness. It offers something harder—and perhaps far more valuable: the discipline to distinguish what we can change from what we cannot, to resist the endless competition for our attention, and to build character in a world increasingly capable of thinking for us. Artificial intelligence can assist thought. It cannot outsource character.
