This revolutionary software can do everything from managing businesses to writing articles, all without human intervention. They even claim that it can learn from its own experiences and feedback, which is truly impressive – maybe we’re witnessing the first form of artificial life. With its ability to access the internet, it can conduct research and gather information, but who needs a human when you have a robot to generate all the content? But don’t worry, they make it clear that AutoGPT is safe to use, as long as you’re willing to risk your own OpenAI credits. And remember, if something goes wrong, it’s on you! But, joking aside, this technology seems like an incredible and promising achievement for AI.

What is AutoGPT?

AutoGPT is an experimental open-source application that uses the GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 language models to create complete projects without continuous human intervention. It is capable of learning from its own experiences and feedback, and improving its performance over time, becoming one of the first examples of GPT-4 functioning completely autonomously.

AutoGPT can read and write files, navigate the web, conduct research and collect information, and can even manage businesses autonomously, such as creating websites, writing articles, generating logos and marketing products. Install and register the requirements:

Python 3.8 or later

OpenAI API key

You can also use an API from ElevenLabs if you want it to produce audio to inform you what it’s doing.

Open your PowerShell or another command-line tool and type: git clone https://github.com/Torantulino/Auto-GPT.git

Then: cd ‘Auto-GPT’

Finally: pip install -r requirements.txt

Navigate to your folder (in Windows, it’s current user and then Auto-GPT) and rename: “.env.template” to “.env” and open it.

Replace the keys with your API keys.

In PowerShell/CMD, run: python scripts/main.py

Start building your project.

As mentioned, it will ask for permission before making requests, and you can also give permission for multiple requests in a row by typing “y -n”, with “n” being the number of permissions you will give.

Disclaimer: There is also a risky “Chaos” mode (without requesting permission). Again – remember that it uses credits from your account. You will use this app at your own risk.

You can also try BabyAGI. BabyAGI is a simplified version of the original Task-Oriented Autonomous Autonomous Agent (March 28, 2023), created by Yohei Nakajima.
